Castle: Triangle Time
Well, now. Den of Thieves, indeed. This was a great episode on a lot of levels. First off, I loved seeing Esposito having such a major part in the episode. Wasn’t he fabulous?! This was one of those heart-touching, ode to
friendship storylines that made me smile through most of the show.
Most of it. I’ll admit, my smile fell away during the flirty looks and exchanges between Beckett and the (to quote Karin Tabke) hawt guy, Demming. You just knew things were going to be interesting when, as Beckett walked off with Demming, Castle asked what he could do and her response was “You could watch.” His response? “Two weeks ago, I saved your life. Twice!” Zing!!
I loved the loyalty theme in this episode, though. And watching Castle teach Alexis to play poker was great. But the crime? Primo!!! Great mystery, I really wanted the bad guy to be Hawt Guy (what can I say, I’m not a fan of love triangles unless they are short and used as an impetus to make a couple see what they stand to lose if they are complacent). But I was very pleased with who the bad guy ended up being. Nice. Very nice.
Favorite Scene: When Esposito thanks his partners – Ryan and Castle. That was just so sweet.
Favorite Line: After Alexis beat him at poker, she read off her list of what he owed her. She looks up and he has that pensive look on his face and she asked “What’s Wrong?” Fave line – “I’m not used to losing.“ (Um, then dude, step up to the plate, for crying out loud!!! Quit waiting around!)
Favorite Moment: At the end when Castle was watching Beckett and Hawt Guy get their flirt on and he started to turn away. Then he stopped and turned back -forcing himself to see. See what? Well I figure it was a see what he’s about to lose moment. One of those, step up and work for it sucker, or its going to be gone and you’ll regret it forever moments.
What do you think?

Loved it too…the fight scene between Beckett and Demming was awesome…I kept thinking of Eve and Roarke. You picked out my fave scenes too. I wonder what will come after this for Castle and Beckett. Can’t wait to find out.
I knew who the bad guy was after the second time he showed up, but it didn’t detract from the episode at all. I was all for believing it was “hawt guy” cause I didn’t want him to block Castle, but as you said…he needs to step up to the plate and bat.
Peace and love,

I was as pleased as Castle was when Esposito referred to him as one of his partners. I also thought it was great when everyone covered for Esposito with the chief. (But…would a police chief keep alcohol in his office?)
The jealousy that Castle and Beckett have each felt during the recent episodes will hopefully speed up the romance.
It was a great episode. The whole ensemble of characters play off each other well.
Tawny…
I totally agree…was very disappointed that “hawt guy” was not the bad guy. But I did have to give him props for the way he handled their suspicion.
Now we’ve had mirror episodes in that both Castle and Beckett have watched while a third party has had designs on the other. And neither one of them liked it! At all. So I hope “hawt guy” isn’t there to stay either and that Castle makes a proactive move. Maybe that’s why he turned back at the end…a bit of foreshadowing? We can only hope!
I absolutely agree with you that Esposito’s character was more than strong enough to carry off the increased role in last night’s episode. It rocked…very much!

Yes, I think that is what Demming is there for, to make Castle step up to the plate. And I can’t wait to see what he does! Bummer next week isn’t new
