Castle – Anatomy Lessons
This was a fun episode. Mostly, I think, because I’ve finally given up on the romance between Castle and Beckett. So those little glimpses and teases of romance (we can’t call it sexual tension any longer. It’s more floppy than tense) are enough to make me smile. But at this point, I’m watching for the clever writing and the crimes.
So -my thoughts on this week’s episode? Here we go…
Rock on, Castle said romance novel
And we revisit a smidge of the relationship promise while they read the letters. That was my fave moment, seriously. Well, right next to my
totally favorite moment when Beckett told Castle she’d break him out of prison. I actually said awwwww out loud.
Yep, figured the murderer out early on. But the motive was a killer (haha) twist! Talk about poetic justice. And the Cutie McNurse red herring was definitely fun.
Theme of the night? Hit on Beckett
Bwahaaha line: After Beckett raves about her cardiac surgeon boyfriend saving someone’s life that morning, she asks: “What’d you do this morning, Castle?” His muttered reply? “Made waffles.”
Loved it!!
Word of the night: Seriously?
So what did you think of Anatomy of a Murder? Love it, hate it, neutrally enjoyed it? Did you have a favorite line or moment?

I think overall this was a good episode.
Loved:
The widow’s response to seeing a woman in the casket with her husband, “Who’s the shikse?”
All the Greys Anatomy references like the round of seriouslies and “McSchemey”
When Castle and Beckett read the love notes to each other and for a split second it seemed like it was for each other.
A. Martinez as Cesar. I always loved him as Cruz on Santa Barbara.
Castle wanting to be his daughter’s hero.
Castle growing up a bit and having a sincere talk with his ex about the tickets.
Not so much:
Beckett having yet another new boyfriend
Zero chemistry between Castle and his ex Gina. I wondered several times (until they kissed) if they were even back together.
Nurse McSchemey getting off all charges at the end. He committed several crimes. I can’t imagine that Beckett would be on board with helping him get out of it even if he was part of a great love story.
Jill, there really wasn’t any chemistry between Castle and Gina, was there? Even in anger, they both flat lined. No passion, no excitement. I was glad to see Castle try the sincerity card, because I figure the writers are using this/these other relationships as learning tools for when Castle and Beckett get together, though (at least, that’s what I tell myself to keep from being disappointed LOL)
I definitely think the writers are trying to tell us that Beckett and Castle weren’t ready to be together yet, but now they are each growing up in different ways. Castle is learning to act more mature in relationships and Beckett is learning to open up emotionally.
I just noticed in my comment above that I forgot to mention that one of the things I loved was the chart with the “Galaxy of Greg”. LOL That was awesome.
OMG Yes
The Galaxy of Greg LOL – that was so hilarious.
Loved it! And I haven’t given up on the romance. I understand that the show’s creators can’t have Castle and Beckett get together to soon. Watching their relationship come together is half the fun of the show
And I do enjoy watching their flirting! The wait will make it all the sweeter when they finally do get together. Even if we do have to wait until the very end of the show
And the “I would break you out of prison, Castle.” line was fantastic. You could tell it really got him thinking about what his mom said
Such sweet moments!
Oh! I adored the part where Castle and Beckett were reading the love letters, and Castle turnes to Beckett (actually they had been getting closer throughout the whole reading) and reads something like: “You will never get rid of me. I love you.” And they kind of stared at each other intently. *sighs* I like for those moments, haha
We agree on the faves for sure, Chelsea. I loved how Martha homed in on that comment, and how Beckett inadvertently made Castle think again about how perfect they’d be for each other.
Hi Tawny, I loved the episode…love the plug for romance novels too…reality-based one too…
Fave line was when Beckett said she would break him out…the look on his face was priceless. Loved when she asked him what he did today, and his response cracked me up. I am not giving up on the romance between the two of them though. The googly (sp?) eyes they shared was enough to keep the hope alive for me. I’m thinking Beckett knows exactly what she’s doing pushing her Doc boyfriend in Castle’s face. The wife…she’s got to go, and I think she will be going soon…I can feel it…LOL!!!
Loved the scene with his mom when she asked him would he break Gina (I think that’s her name) out of jail. To follow that with Beckett’s response was awesome.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
Peace and love,

Oh yeah, Beckett definitely knows what she’s doing, doesn’t she, Paula. and hey, ya gotta love a guy who can make waffles!! And I’m with you on hoping to wave buh bye to the ex wife. I hope it is soon
I really liked this episode, made my romantic heart happy. My favorite moment was at the end where Beckett said she would get him out of jail and I loved the smile on Esposito’s face after Beckett said that. .
I’m loving Esposito more and more this season, Nicole!! His expressions or comments are turning into the highlight of each week!
