Quick Six with Lisa Paitz Spindler
I am so lucky… because not only do I have incredibly talented friends, I have incredibly multi-talented friends!
I’ve know Lisa for almost a decade now and love her writing. I also love her amazing gift with web design. Lisa is the brilliant mind and talent behind my website. And she has killer taste in shoes. And if that’s not enough, I’m now so excited to share her debut, THE SPIRAL PATH, with you- and to tell you that it is absolutely FABULOUS and you will definitely want to check it out
Plotter or Pantzer?
Plotter, sort of. I usually write the beginning and then start to freak out about how it will end, so then I plot out the rest of the story. When I sit down to write again, however, my characters often go off on their own saying “Plot? Schplot. Stop telling us what to do.”
Ice Cream or Cookies?
Ice cream, preferably chocolate. Or maybe chocolate fudge brownie. There is no such thing as too much chocolate or ice cream.
Guitar or Drums?
Drums! I play some mean drums in Rock Band. I even have a pair of drumming gloves. Y’know, to protect my oh-so-delicate hands so I can keep on writing and typing.
Past or Future?
Future. The past is certainly interesting, but I can’t get over the lack of indoor plumbing and antibiotics.
Mascara or Lip-gloss?
Mascara, definitely. My eyelashes are blonde so mascara is a must.
Live underwater or in space?
Space. It is the final frontier, after all.My question:
My debut release has both marines (in space!) and pirates (in space!). Are you drawn to a hero who is a rule-follower or a rule-breaker? Who would you choose, a straight-laced space marine or a bad-boy space pirate?

Thank you, Tawny! A girl can never have enough shoes. I also have a tendency to need just the right jacket for each occasion, and in my new book, my heroine Lara has an awesome leather jacket with a special history.
Hmmm Marines in space or Pirates… can’t I say I like both! They each have qualities that are attractive…
as for ice cream or cookies, I like to have both together… cookies & cream ice cream or I make my own blizzard with oreos! YUMMY!
Congrats on your debut release, Lisa. I think it’ll be more exciting to hang out with a rule breaker.
Oh, Lisa! I’m thinking that while I’d love one of each, I’ll go with the Marine
Congrats on this upcoming story–I love sci-fi and am thrilled to find a new author to add to my list!
Oooh, tough question! I guess I will have to go with the steady, reliable space marine!
Congrats on your debut!
Congrats Lisa!
I’ll choose the rule breaker!
I like the rule breaker/ bad-boy. The rule follower is fun to read about and I like it when they show a bit of their bad side.
I’m such a goody-two-shoes and love a guy that does just as he likes. So I’d go for the rulbreaker, the bad boy pirate. We would compliment each other I think.
Congratulations again on your release, Lisa!
THE SPIRAL PATH was so much fun and has such a unique premise. Lara is an amazingly extraordinary heroine and it’s refreshing to encounter a character with her genetic makeup. And Mitch–rowr–he has a fabulous-looking uniform for which you have my eternal thanks!
Can I please have one of each? I love the bad boy image of the Pirate but I also love the heroic image of the marine
Yanno, Mitch is sort of in between. For years he’s been loyal to the rules, but in the end he follows his heart.
Congrats on your debut release! I think I would want the pirate but both would be great.
