Quick Six with Virna DePaul

Please welcome Virna DePaul to the Quick Six! Virna is not only an amazingly talented author, but she’s a great friend. Her Para-Ops series launched this month with CHOSEN BY BLOOD – a fabulous book you really want to check out!! So enjoy the interview, answer her question in the comments section and be sure to look for Chosen By Blood!!

CHOSEN BY BLOOD
Leader of an Otherborn clan, half-breed vampire Knox Devereaux would do anything to find a cure for the anti-vamp vaccine slowly starving his people into extinction. When the FBI contacts him about leading a team of hand-selected Others on a mission to reclaim the stolen antidote, Knox accepts. His new assignment places him in direct contact with Special Agent Felicia Locke, the beautiful human he’s craved since their very first meeting.

In CHOSEN BY FATE (Book 2), you’ll find out more about the heroine, Wraith, the team’s ghost, and the hero, Caleb O’Flare, the team’s human psychic shaman. Wraith feels pain anytime she’s touched, but will Caleb convince her that love is worth any price, even death?

1. Alpha, beta or gamma? Alpha with beta tendencies or vise versa. Complexity is sexy!

2. Romantic suspense or Romantic comedy? Romantic suspense, but again, they can run the gamut. I love ‘em dark (Allison Brennan or Karen Rose), medium (Linda Howard, Karen Robards) or with a lighter touch (Lori Wilde).

3. Introvert or Extrovert? Introvert who appreciates having an extrovert husband.

4. E-book or paper? Paper. I recently lugged a bag of books to Ireland and would do it again. But I love being able to instantly purchase something on my e-reader if the book store is closed or just seems too far away.

5. Teleport or Read Minds? Totally teleport!! Travel without the hassle? I’m so there. And I have a hard time believing what people will actually say out loud, let alone think.
Please welcome

6. Scruffy or Clean Shaven? Depends. I’m a sucker for the perfect five-o’clock shadow (Eric Dane or Eric Bana, for example…Sigh) but anything more starts to creep me out.

My question for readers: Diamonds or other?

  2. Dawn Staniszeski says:

Oh my, without a doubt diamonds!!!

  3. infinitieh says:

    Hi, Virna!

My choice is other, more specifically emeralds. Diamonds are artificially expensive but good emeralds are rare.

  4. Betty Lewis says:

Other. Diamonds are very nice, but I’m a sucker for star-sapphires. My mom had one was I was a kid, and I fell in love with it. I always wanted to wear it. Also a big fan of opals, though they are supposed to be unlucky.

  5. Colleen says:

I actually do not care for diamonds… My mother and sisters think I am odd… I like sapphires, emeralds, opals & tanzinite! Thanks for sharing with us today! Have a wonderful weekend all! :D

  6. CrystalGB says:

Hi Virna. Your book sounds great. I am a diamond girl. :)

  7. Virna says:

Sounds like a good mix of diamonds and other sparklys. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

  8. Fedora says:

Hi, Virna! Congrats on this new series! As for bling? I’m fine with diamonds, but I don’t love the controversy and the abuse of people that seems to come with acquiring some of them. Real stones are gorgeous though, but if I can get good looking fakes, I’m totally OK with that too! More money for books ;)

And mmm… five o’clock shadow can be quite appealing on some heroes :)

  9. Chelsea B. says:

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, baby! I’m classy like that ;-)

  10. Virna says:

I agree with your take on shadows and jewels, Fedora. And Chelsea, diamonds can be very friendly (and classy!). Thanks for stopping by!

  11. Marika Weber says:

I would say pearls. In all colors, too. Kinda boring but paired with some diamonds, very pretty. Congratulations on the releases.

  12. Leni says:

I choose other because other because diamonds have never really been my first choice in jewelry.

  13. Helen says:

This book sounds like one I want to read!
I’d choose other. I like emeralds.

  15. StephanieJS says:

Any sparkly jewelry works for me. I’m not picky about the stone as long as it suits my style. However. I tend to spend the majority of my money on books so I don’t have a lot of the real stuff. My book addiction wins out every time.

I can’t wait to read your books, Virna. They sound like fabulous reads!

  16. Virna says:
