Quick Six with Virna DePaul
AND THE WINNER IS: QUILT LADY! Congrats.
Please join me in welcoming my wonderful friend, the fabulous Virna DePaul. I’m so excited to celebrate Virna’s latest release, and bet you will be too. Check this out…
Chosen By Fate
There’s a fine line between life and death, pleasure and pain….
Five years after the Second Civil War ends, humans and Otherborn— humanlike creatures with superhuman DNA—still struggle for peace. To ensure the continued rights of both, the FBI forms a Para-Ops team with a unique set of skills.
Although he keeps company with a vampire and a were, human Shaman Caleb O’Flare can hold his own. But neither his psychic ability nor his healing powers can help his sexy-as-hell teammate, Wraith—a ghost with no memory of her human existence, one who cannot experience touch without pain.
No wraith has managed to exist past its tenth year, so Wraith’s time is about to run out. She wants only two things before accepting her fate: to learn her human identity and experience one night with Caleb. Willing to risk any amount of pain, Wraith propositions him. But when a sign of impending death appears on his chest, Wraith sacrifices her own needs on the chance that sex with her could kill him.
Caleb doesn’t understand Wraith’s change of heart but refuses to let her push him away. As the team travels to Los Angeles to investigate a series of crimes in the feline community, Caleb sets out to prove to Wraith that pleasure and love are worth any risk, including death.
1. Chest hair or bare? Bare before hairy. I don’t mind a fine dusting, but I generally don’t like more!
2. Whipped cream or chocolate syrup? Chocolate syrup! It tops, mixes, and drizzles. Versatile and yummy!
3. Short hair or long hair? On men, short. For myself, I always wanted a sassy, modern pixie cut and I’ve tried it a couple of times with disastrous results.
4. Candles or Incense? I adore scented candles. They make anything better.
5. Fact or Fiction? I should say fiction because I’m a writer, but I’m going with fact. Too many people live in denial and that hinders the ability to make positive change. I always want to be grounded in reality so I can improve myself and my life—writing is just one aspect of that.
6. Cursive or Print? I love pretty writing that is romantic yet readable. Life has to balance both our passions and our responsibilities, so I like anything that reminds me of that!
And for a chance to win Virna’s debut Harlequin Romantic Suspense, Dangerous To Her, here’s her question for you:
We all deserve pampering! So, Facial or massage?
Virna DePaul is a former criminal prosecutor and now National Bestselling Author for Berkley (paranormal romantic suspense), HQN (single title romantic suspense) and HRS (category romantic suspense). Hi Virna. Chosen by Fate sounds great. I would choose a facial.
Hi, Virna! I think I’d go with a massage, although it kind of depends because I’m a little ticklish so I have to be in the right frame of mind
And yep, while I love the idea of the sassy short hair, that’s never quite worked out properly for me! Plus the growing out after is soooo painful! Great answers to your quick six! And I’m completely intrigued by the sounds of Chosen by Fate–I see it’s book 2, so I’ve got a little catching up to do! How many more books do you envision for that series?
Great interview! I guess I would choose massage, never had one but think I could use one right now.
Facial would be my choice… love candles, bare chests, short hair, & whipped cream… Have a wonderful weekend!
Tawny – Thanks so much for having me on your blog!
CrystalGB – A great facial is a great pick-up! Thanks for stopping by!
Fedora – I’d like to do at least 4 books in the series, and maybe more if readers like the new characters I introduce. I’m a little ticklish, too. I feel a little embarrassed when I giggle during a massage. But I love them!!
Quilt Lady – Everyone should try a massage at least once. It can be SO relaxing. Thanks for stopping by!
Colleen – Hi there, sounds like a great night with the likes you’ve described!
I’d really love a facial. Nice steam and having unclogged pores for a beautiful complexion, I am so there
Leni, a good facial is heaven! Thanks for stopping by!
